Growing up, I attended church every Sunday. My parents were committed Christians and my grandfather was a pastor. Though I heard the gospel, or good news , about Jesus Christ growing up, it never really made sense to me until I attended a church retreat during my sophomore year in high school. 2011 Huskers For Christ – Austin Cassidy

Growing up, I remember hearing the good news that God sent Jesus to earth to pay the price for sin by dying on the cross in our place. The fact that he rose from the dead made it even more incredible. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I finally responded to this good news when I turned away from the sin in my life and placed my complete trust in him. Now I’m reading my Bible nearly every day and talking to God through prayer. That’s something I didn’t even consider when I first arrived at college.

Weekend of Champions Highlights
