Lincoln East HS
Varsity Football Coach

Chosen Attribute:  Teamwork
My Definition:  Guys that are watching out for each other and pursuing a common goal and not wavering one bit through trials and tribulations.
Favorite Quotes about Teamwork:  "As the challenge escalates, the need for teamwork elevates."  - John Maxwell  "There is no I in Team."
Favorite Scriptures That Deal with Teamwork:  Where Jesus chose 12 men to walk along side him during his time on earth. In Daniel where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego don't succumb to the temptation and the direct order of bowing down and worshipping an idol.
Why I Chose These Passages:  Jesus was passionate about what he was doing and the 12 joined in that passion and walked with him to the very end. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stand firm as a team in their faith and don't waver one bit.
How I Apply Teamwork to Life:  Working with John Gingery, the head football coach at Lincoln East High School.  He is a man of great faith in Jesus and a man a great integrity.  As a fellow believer, I believe it is important to stand firm in faith with each other and hold each other accountable during the school year.
How I Apply Teamwork to Coaching:  I think it is only natural to apply the passages to the season.  I like to tell stories and there is no greater story to tell that the one of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when the going gets tough.  I think it is also a great story to tell the FCA Huddle group with all the temptations that are out there for them to give way to.  If they have a team of people surrounding them, it is easier to stand firm when face with a "fiery furnace."
